Want Power (staying lean isn’t about will power)

Anything in life worth achieving…. is worth the work. This isn’t about will power. It takes WANT power!! You’re going to have to WANT to be firmer, slimmer, healthier and stronger. You’ll have to WANT more energy, WANT more vitality and WANT more confidence in your life. Personal pride builds with each bout of exercise, lean meal or healthy thought.

Negative Mind Exchange (NME or Enemy). This is a name that I coined with my clients. These are the thoughts that we have between ourselves to transfer from positive to negative behaviors. These negative thought patterns lead you in a downward spiral, and contribute to your self-criticism, self-blame, and negative expectations. Negative Mind Exchange (NME) happens to all of us. Hey, I wish I was 6 foot 4 and playing Major League Baseball—but, it’s not going to happen so I don’t dwell on it. Not only do you have to create positive self talk language, but you also have to STOP and redirect yourself when the negative exchange rears its ugly head.

 

You need to make a conscious effort to STOP it...before it STOPS you.

 

Stop Obsessing about Your Weight. Don’t spend another minute obsessing about the number on your scale. You are way smarter than that. The scale will beat you up on a daily basis.  It’s certainly not the best indicator of your success. In fact, it’s very deceiving.  The scale doesn’t take into consideration lean muscle tissue. Muscle tissue is more dense than fat so it will show up on the scale as a gain.   And, if there’s one element you’ll learn from my plan,  it's that you will ONLY succeed long term if. you have muscle—and plenty of it. Muscle revs up your metabolism, and burns and churns calories while you rest. Not to mention that it makes your body look lean, defined…and ATTRACTIVE!

False Hopes. Many of the programs that you may have tried in the past, promise results in a matter of weeks, or sometimes even days….”Give us a week and we’ll take off 7 pounds”  I know you’ve seen these ads. These ads are all based on weight loss tricks! Since the scale is the benchmark for success, they can easily dupe you.  You can lose water weight in that short time period, or use severe calorie reduction to get that effect.

And in today’s market there are many cleanses, funky diets, and detoxes that you can choose that will help you lose weight temporarily—just a scale fix that forces you to shed water weight. Guess what?  You're not losing as much fat,  and this water weight will come right back within a matter of days once you go back to your old habits!  I want to end this type of madness for you—NOW.

Changing Our Mentality from Dieting to Lean Living. Becoming frustrated with the process is a big reason many of us find it easier to give up rather than face the challenge of slow and steady progress. Our mind is a very powerful entity. When we make the decision to become healthy, lose inches, drop clothing sizes, and become Lean, many of us expect those changes to happen within a matter of weeks. Progress takes time. This steady approach works 100 % percent of the time….even if you’ve failed in the past.

Your focus needs to be on becoming Fit, Healthy and Strong...not only with your body, but also with your daily thoughts.
